Join us for a special evening celebrating the 20th anniversary of Wayne Gillespie's acclaimed live album, "Live At The Bunker." For this unique performance, Wayne will be joined by an all-star acoustic trio to journey through a 40-year songwriting catalogue.

The set will feature gems from his 80s albums 'Wayward Son' and 'New Locations', 1993's 'Living In Exile', right through to recent releases like 2022's 'FRAZZ' and live favourites such as 'Geriatric Blues' from the upcoming project 'Wayward Father' (due 2026).

With very special guest support from John Michaelz and Mike Kirk.

Wayne Gillespie (Guitar / Vocals / Songs) - The acclaimed singer-songwriter at the heart of the celebration.

Kim Halliday (Guitar / Mandola / Cajon) - The incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist from Pacific Curls, stepping in for the evening.

Tony Waine (Bass) - The legendary bassist from The Narcs, a long-time musical compadre.

With a possible special guest appearance by the renowned vocalist Caitlin Smith.

This promises to be a night of fantastic stories, dry wit, and exceptional musicianship, tracing the career of one of New Zealand's most enduring songwriters.

On Saturday July 19th, John Michaelz turns 60. To celebrate John has assembled 7-piece band that will be performing songs from John's 40 + years as a singer / songwriter.

From Hard To Handle, The Stone Babies, Kosher and Solo, every period will be represented. Special guest Grant Haua will open the show and join John and the band for the final songs of the night.

John Michaelz - Nominated for a New Zealand Tui Award in 2010 for his Gospel album, Walk On Water and with ten albums to his credit and known for his high-octane stage performances, fronting rock bands Hard To Handle, The Stone Babies and Kosher.

John Michaelz' work combines his love of Reggae, Rock, Blues, Gospel and his prowess for writing a great song. John's albums include fine contributions from the likes of Shona Laing, Rodger Fox, Ritchie Pickett, Gordon Joll (Herbs, Hello Sailor) Alan Norman (The Warratahs ,The Rag Poets) Liam Ryan (The Narcs) to mention a few.

John has toured with Renee Geyer, American blues men Robert Penn and Junior Medlow. Born in Motueka Aotearoa and raised in Iceland for seventeen years, John returned to New Zealand in 1987, furthering a lifetime career in music.
